Sacred Spaces

Recently we returned home from an overseas holiday. I loved the trip however we were together 24/7, all 6 of us. There was very little chance for a break, for space or for peace. It gave me pause to think about the importance of sacred spaces.

For me, a sacred space is a place I can stop, breath, relax and find peace. It is a place I can centre myself and rejuvenate myself from the chaos of the world. For me, my sacred place is my bedroom. It is my sanctuary. I have worked hard to create a space that instantly lifts my soul.

Today I spoke to my children about sacred spaces and asked them to consider where their sacred space is. Two of them instantly used paper to draw their sacred space plan, one even measured out an area in their room.

Having an escape from the world is one key to being home centred. Where is your sacred space? What does it mean to you?
